Recruiting Update - Jeremis Smith & others

Arlington Noon Optimist Classic: High-scoring Jeremis Smith scored only 17 points, but his teammates helped spread the load as Dunbar defeated Arlington 81-55 to advance to this afternoon's semifinal against Eastern Hills. Also found out that Dunbar won the final game as well (against I believe Seagonville, which is Lamarcus Alridge's team (top 20 national player - 6'11"). Don't know the stats, but will soon.

For a first hand opinion from someone who saw him play today, click here. Sounds like you never get the full story in the media. Poor foul-shooting, mediocre ball-handling, not many outside shots. Scores with his back to the basket. Not dissing him - it's just easy to get an overly rosy picture of these kids when you don't actually see them play.

Anthony Morrow scores 26 as his Charlotte Latin team beats Durham Acad. 88-54.

Ra'Sean Dickey's team wins (about 55-41) and Dickey goes for 22 points, 17 boards.

Jan 1-3 will be the Dell Curry / Bank of America High School Shootout will be held. Players will include our own Anthony Morrow and our hopefull Randolph Morris. Here is a link. There will be a ton of NBA scouts at the game. This sounds absolutely terrible, but hopefully he doesn't absolutely dominate. We don't need NBA people telling him he will be a top 5 draft pick. Definitely selfish, but hey, GT is my team. What do you expect?
