One of Freidgen's recruiting tactics......

......giving out Joe Hamilton's cell phone number. Interesting approach to trying to land a highly touted QB, but evidently it was one of the things that worked with this kid, as he signed with Maryland and not Penn St. Joe Paterno may be a legend, but sounds like he might be a little out of touch with recruiting strategies. It is always an interesting question when should a legend step down and under what terms. Others will face the same thing - Bobby Bowden, etc.

Many were unhappy at how the Bobby Cremins situation was handled. It was probably not handled in the most graceful way. Obviously the end result looks positive as Hewitt appears to be building something special in his own right. It appears Cremins understands how the fans and students feel about him (much love) and doesn't hold a grudge. But then that's probably just the type person he is.
