If anyone is seriously considering attending the Humanitarian Bowl, here is the link and tickets are relatively inexpensive for $30 or so. Why attend a bad bowl that the Jackets might not win amongst very few Tech fans? I did last year, and here are my top five reasons to treat yourself:
1) Flout the streak. We have the nation's longest active bowl streak and that remains intact this year with a strong team coming up next year. You can talk smack about that with anyone, baby, including our friends in Athens. Scoreboard...
2) Enemy Territory. You will definitely be outnumbered by the WAC rep and there's nothing like walking into a stadium outnumbered wearing Jackets gear, and getting pumped up. Leaving the stadium feels even better after a win...
3) You'll be a REAL fan. Anyone who flies to Idaho after New Year's to watch the team deserves serious props from other Tech faithful. Let us know if you're buying tickets, for sure. Unless you're related to a player, that is...
4) Baileys and coffee. It'll be colder than a witch's ti...you get the idea. Hot refreshment is definitely called for and you can order more if the game turns sour.
5) Potentially--see us play the Bulldogs! We played Fresno State in San Jose last year and as I sipped refreshment in the parking lot, I began to get excited--they wear red, listen to country music, drink bad beer, curse, smell, and bark just like the other Bulldogs. Close your eyes and it feels like the real thing...
Seriously, I hope that some hearty fans head out to Boise for the game. We had a great time at the Silicon Valley Classic last year despite the outcome and I still proudly wear my gear from that game. Go Jackets!
