Chan Gailey for ACC Coach of the Year?

From Macon Telegraph assistant sports editor Michael Lough:

If Georgia Tech finishes .500, Chan Gailey has to be ACC coach of the year. A freshman quarterback, no established tailbacks, nearly a dozen players lost to academics, a couple injuries here and there, portions of a fan base jumping ship, and the team most expected to perhaps overachieve at 4-8 hits .500? That's a coaching job. And actually the odds are with the Jackets, to a point. Duke and North Carolina are should-be-wins, and Wake Forest today is winnable if Tech's defense doesn't get a headache from Wake's offense. The Jackets will need big doins for upsets against Maryland, Virginia, and Georgia. ...

Finishing .500 does not deserve ACC coach of the year (IMO). However, if we finish at least 2 games ABOVE .500, then we can start talking.
