RECRUITING NOTES FROM SC PAPER
Note that Carlos Thomas gets in in-home visit from Steve Spurrier today, and that Taalib Tucker is visiting SC this weekend.

RECRUITING: QB JONATHAN GARNER NAMES LEADERS
GT and Ole Miss are his co-leaders. He had committed to Florida but decommited when Urban Meyer said his QB style didn't fit the offense he would bring to FL. Stats for the year:

What were your stats for the year? "I was 122-220 for 1,940 yards. I had 25 TD's and 4 interceptions."

By the way, he has a 4.2 GPA and scored 1120 on the SAT. He's getting interest from a lot of big schools.

RECRUITING: A POTENTIAL WALK-ON
Smart kid who would definitely bring up the team GPA.

WRONG-WAY REIGELS GET MORE PR

Such a mistake can and has wrecked lives. Fortunately, Riegels was able to accept his goof with equanimity. Presented with an honorary membership card in the Georgia Tech Lettermen's Club at a 1971 ceremony honoring the '28 Yellow Jackets, he said jokingly, "I've really earned this."

MORE ON A FOOTBALL PLAYOFF SYSTEM
While I don't disagree with a football playoff, this writer totally negates his arguement by putting Syracuse in his bowl playoff system (16 teams), even though they were crushed by our Jackets. And that's fair???
