Don't Mess with Buzz...

One thing is for sure - Georgia Tech strong defends the use of logo's and trademarks. Don't believe me, then read this story....

Since 1967, Salt Lake has been known as the Little Giants, Bees, Padres, Angels, Gulls, Trappers, Buzz and, since 2001, the Stingers. Salt Lake became the Buzz when Joe Buzas moved the franchise from Portland to Salt Lake City in 1994.

Georgia Tech won the rights to the name Buzz in 2001, and the name was changed to the Stingers. Known as the Yellow Jackets, Georgia Tech won its three-year legal battle with Buzas over trademark rights to its mascot, Buzz.

The settlement also prohibited Salt Lake from using Buzz on its Web site for merchandising or its team mascot, Buzzy.
