Football - Final Scrimmage Results

Well, another day, another dominating performance by Calvin Johnson. Folks, just be thankful we will have him for 3 years. CJ catches 6 passes for 121 yards and 1 TD. You know.... average........ Even Coach Gailey has stopped with the "... he can be good" stuff:

"I think we've come to expect everything that Calvin does," said Gailey. "He's obviously a great player who can go out and make some big plays, and he tends to do that every time he's on the field."

Drew Gause was actually the most productive RB on the field today, going 10 carries for 61 yards. However, the offensive was focusing on the passing game........... Reggie Ball has a solid outing, going 16-29, 3 TD's, 1 rushing TD, but did toss 2 INT's. Just more confirmation that Reggie is the clear #1. Pat Clark and TE Mike Matthews caught the other TD passes from Ball.

Coach Gailey on Reggie's decision-making:

"There's a definite one and two, no question. I see him throwing to the right people. Sometimes he gets a little bit behind the receiver, like the interception he threw (to Joe Gaston). It was a little bit behind Calvin, but it was the right decision.

On a VERY positive note, Coach thinks this was the best the O-Line has played all spring....... J.Tenuta is trying to build depth on the defense, and it seems that Gary Guyton and Joe Gaston are making positive strides.

All in all, a pretty encouraging day.
