Where are they now - Nick Ferguson

I'll tell you where he is - finishing his degree!!! Nice to see. To top it off, it looks like he might become the starting Denver Bronco safety next season.

Nick Ferguson was leaving a classroom at Georgia Tech on Monday when he found out his NFL course load will increase dramatically.

Ferguson is likely to be a starter for the Broncos because of safety Kenoy Kennedy's departure. The hard-hitting Kennedy, Denver's second-round draft choice in 2000, signed a five-year, $14 million contract Monday with the Detroit Lions. The deal includes a $4.4 million signing bonus.

"Wow, I guess Kenoy's opportunity in Detroit will be mine in Denver," said Ferguson, who is likely to join John Lynch as a starting safety. "I've stepped in for Kenoy and John before when they had injuries, and I think I will get an opportunity now. I'll miss Kenoy, but I have to look at this as an opportunity for myself. I will work hard to do it well."
