Where are they now - Micah Owings

I know you don't want to hear about a kid who left our school. But I'm going to tell you anyhow. Owings was named the National Player-of-the-Week on Monday.

Tulane got its No. 1 ranking before the season based on several players returning from a Super Regional team and, more importantly, on a consensus top five recruiting class, which was highlighted by the signing of Georgia Tech transfer Micah Owings.

Owings, a junior pitcher and first baseman, was named the national player of the week Monday after hitting four home runs in four games, including two in an 11-5 win over Marist on Sunday.

He hit .375 on the week with seven RBIs and pitched six shutout innings of one-hit ball for the victory in the 24-2 win on Saturday.
