Recruiting - football

A talented cornerback (and track star), looks like he favors Georgia Tech - story here. And get this - success in hoops can carry over to recruiting in other sports (and vice versa). I am sure that's no suprise:

What stands out about the Jackets?

"I just grew up liking them. It was something about their basketball team and I just fell in love with their program. It really started even more last year when they went to the championship game. Me and Justin Williams are going up there this Saturday to check out the campus and see what it's like."

In addition the Jackets just got a visit from 6'5" Safety and WR prospect Jamar Hornsby, who might end up the #1 prospect in the state of Florida. Evidently his visit went quite well.

Here's more on the recruiting front. How would you like to have another guy named "Kenny Scott" on the team??

DL Ben Alexander (6-0 290) had 77 tackles and 22 sacks last season. "He is explosive with unbelievable strength," Parker said. "If height matters, I don't think it does in Ben's case. He's now raw, he's just mean. When he hits you, you can feel it. He just explodes through you." Alexander's father played defensive tackle at the Citadel in the mid eighties. He has been offerred by Florida State and Georgia Tech and is also drawing interest from USC, Clemson, Maryland, Duke, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Georgia, Auburn, Notre Dame and NC State. He will attend USC's junior day March 19th. USC and Clemson are indicating offers. He has attended North Carolina's junior day.

DL Kenny Scott (6-3 300) compares favorably to his teammate Alexander according to Parker. "He's everything Ben is," Parker said. "He probably doens't have the first step, but he's bigger and that's what's drawing the attention. He's a real smart player. He's a finesse guy but you can't move him." Scott is drawing interest from USC, Clemson, Maryland, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, North Carolina, Duke, Boston College and NC State. He will attend USC's junior day on the 19th.
