"Lesser Lights Fly Flag in USA"

There's been a decent amount of focus on the Aussie influence in the tourney, particularly with bigmen. Pat Forde today had his "all-Aussie" tourney team, which included Luke Schenscher. Here's a story on some of the Aussies.

Centre Luke Schenscher and forward Alex Loughton, while not possessing the potential or media profile of NBA draft prospect Bogut, have featured in end-of-season conference tournaments by playing major roles.

Schenscher, the South Australian who preceded Bogut with the Boomers at the 2001 East Asian Games, helped Georgia Tech to yesterday's final of the powerful Atlantic Coast Conference before losing to all-conquering Duke.

A starter on the GT team that went to last year's NCAA final four, Schenscher played a big hand with 15 points, 10 rebounds in the 78-75 semi-final win over North Carolina.

He then collected six points and eight boards in the 69-64 loss to Duke, which is ranked No. 2 in the nation.
