Hoops Notes

JACKETS FALL OUT OF TOP 25

TECH IN SEARCH OF FIRST ROAD WIN
Ok, Coach Hewitt knows this team better than anyone. But he finally confirms what I have been saying here all along, that our success is a function of our ability to pass the ball, not our ability to shoot. When we pass well we win, and that starts with Jack.

Quote from Coach Hewitt:

"Offensively, it's gotten to the point where we've worked out the kinks, and we're moving the ball better. If you look at the games we've lost since the B.J. Elder injury, it's come down to us passing the basketball. When we've scored points, we've passed it well."

ACC ROAD TESTING JACKET'S TOUGHNESS

ELDER DUE BACK FOR CLEMSON GAME
Well, this is good news for sure. But honestly, I doubt he will play more than 15 minutes. And by the way, if you are expecting big scoring, don't get your hopes up. He hasn't played in 9 games and is not in game shape for sure. I'll be there to see first hand.

GETTING EXCITED ABOUT ALADE
If this doesn't get you pumped, I'd be shocked. A kid who has only played organized ball for his 3rd year. Pretty impressive stuff. Alade may end up being the steal of this class, and his brother, only a freshman, is a monster.

HEWITT GIVING UP ON LUKE AT LINE

GT FALLS AT DUKE

DUKE GAME QUOTES

BOXSCORE
Key stats from the game:
1. Duke took 27 3pt shots (& hit 11), while we went 4-12.
2. Duke went 23-31 from the stripe, GT went 9-14, a giant disparity
3. Duke had 13 blocks to our 6. That's 7 shots that never got to the hoop

So while we had a higher shooting percentage, Duke shot way more 3pt shots and was at the line a lot more.

JACKETS HAVE DEVIL OF TIME AT DUKE

JACK MAKES DOOKIE V'S MID-SEASON LIST
Jarrett makes the "All-Thomas Edison Super Six" (creators at PG)........ Also note that Isma'il joins the "All Slam-Bam Jam" team (top dunkers)........ Ed Nelson joins the "All Marco-Polo" team (top transfers). I guess sitting on the pine gets you some good recognition.....

CURRENT RPI
