Hoops Notes

Around the ACC

B.J. Elder, the Yellow Jackets' leading scorer last season, has missed the last six games and his team has gone 2-4 during his absence. Tech coach Paul Hewitt recently ran into Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers, who told him he once had a similar injury that held him out six weeks. If that's the case with Elder, he'll be out until mid-February.

Next: The Yellow Jackets host Florida State on Wednesday in a game between two of three teams tied for seventh place.

Look for FSU player Andrew Wilson to be put on our best offensive player. He's their top "D" guy.....

With Georgia Tech's B.J. Elder still sidelined with an injured hamstring, Wilson will probably work a good deal against Isma'il Muhammad on Wednesday in Atlanta. So he should be able to get a chance to use his underrated skills as an off-the-ball defender, helping plenty against Jarrett Jack and Will Bynum.
