CHATROOM TRANSCRIPT WITH BILL SELF

UM TRAVELS TO GT FOR INAUGURAL ACC GAME

ARE YOU READY FOR CONFERENCE MATCH-UPS?

RECRUITING - CYRUS MCGOWAN
A guy we lost out on, but playing well his senior season.

SEC HOOPS: YOUTH MOVEMENT

DON'T COUNT THE PACK OUT YET

IS THE UNBALANCE SCHEDULE UNFAIR?
A good breakdown of the ACC schedule, who has the edge and who does not.

GILLEN HOT AFTER LOSS
...and hot during the loss, getting T'd up. I tell you, I caught about 5 minutes of this game and in that span I saw UVA players make 2 dirty plays, both on Chris Paul. In the short span I saw, I came away with a bad taste in my mouth about UVA - and I generally have a good feeling about the way they play.

MISC ACC HOOPS NOTES

LANGFORD NAMED NATIONAL PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK
Well whoop-de-doo!!

HOOPS STOCK REPORT: SETH DAVIS
Good stuff on GT and UGA, and to "buy or sell":

Georgia Tech (BUY) If you watched that magnificent game in Lawrence, Kansas, on Saturday, then I'm sure you also sensed those two teams would probably play again late in the NCAAs. B.J. Elder was in a bit of a scoring slump before he got hurt, and Luke Schenscher has been mediocre the first two months of the season, but Georgia Tech has so many weapons (including rapidly improving freshmen Ra'Sean Dickey and Anthony Morrow) that it can overcome a down night from one of its main players. (That doesn't include Jarrett Jack, who never seems to have a down night.) But perhaps the biggest reason to love the Jackets is their defense. They are fifth in the nation in scoring D, which is very impressive for a team that loves to run, and they lead the ACC in both field goal defense (32.5 percent) and three-point defense (25.6 percent).

Five stocks to dump (if you haven't already)

Georgia: The Bulldogs started out a respectable 6-4, but a home loss to Stetson last Friday augurs a very rough SEC season ahead. Next year's recruits can't get to Athens soon enough.
